Storyworld is the newest museum of comics, animation and games in the Netherlands, but it’s also the coolest and the most fun.
But how do we identify the art?
Storyworld unlocks the secrets of great storytellers, showcasing the methods used in Dutch and international comics, animation and games. Because every single superhero or villain originally started out as a pencilled line on a blank sheet of paper. From Asterix and Aladdin to The Red Turtle and Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn.
Storyworld is also a place for you to get hands-on with all the building blocks and features of comics, animation and games. Discover what it takes to understand a graphic story and how to create one yourself.
We’ve built up an extensive, contemporary collection of works in the domain of comics, animation and games. It includes cartoon storyboards, animated film props and games you can play together. Part of our comic collection was inherited from the Comic Museum, which closed early in 2019.
You can find the ticket box and entrance of Storyworld on the sixth floor of Forum Groningen.
Storyworld is supported by contributions from the BankGiro Loterij, the BPD Cultuurfonds, the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie.
